Methods of Preparation & Administration
- To treat appendicitis:
- Boil leaves in water.
- Have the patient drink 1 glass of the decoction 2–3 times daily until cured.
- To treat snake bite:
- Force blood out of the wound.
- Pound leaves and squeeze extracts directly onto the wound.
- To treat spasms:
- Dry roast rice or corn grains in a pan.
- Add water, boil, then add 3 young maltaan leaves.
- Have the patient drink the decoction daily for 3 days.
- To treat warts or rashes:
- Apply the sap directly onto the warts/rashes daily until removed.
- To treat skin allergies:
- Rub leaves onto the affected area.
- Note: The patient must have bathed prior to treatment.
- To treat headache:
- Heat leaves over a flame.
- Place them directly onto the patient’s forehead.
