Methods of Preparation & Administration
To treat snake bite and rabies:
- Force blood out of the wound.
- Chew a tiny piece of the bark (about 0.5 inch) until a soft homogenate is formed with the saliva.
- Place the chewed bark on top of the bitten area and wrap the wound and plant with a cloth.
To treat dengue:
- Scrape off the bark/skin.
- Collect about one (1) tablespoon and add to a hot water.
- Have the patient drink the infusion.
To treat dysmenorrhea, constipation, or hypertension:
- Boil the leaves in water.
- Have the patient drink the decoction three (3) times daily.
To treat German measles or rashes:
- Pound the roots and boil in water.
- Have the patient drink the decoction.
Alternative method to treat snake bite, rabies, and dengue:
- Chew a tiny piece of the bark and sip its extracts.
- Do not swallow the bark.
